The Out-pouring Of The Spirit In The End-times!

These past 3 installments of �TST� we have been looking at some of the most amazing gains in the evangelization of our world over the past 30 years. Before we leave this topic, I must give you just a few more concrete examples to illustrate these amazing trends!
�In 1979, when the Islamic Revolution occurred in Iran, (remember the � Ayatollah Khomeini�?),
there were only 500 known converts to Christ in that entire country. As of 2008, there were over 1,000,000 former Muslims who had become believers in Christ!

�In 1979, when Saddam Hussein took power in Iraq, there was only a handful of true Christian converts from Islam. In 2008, after just 5 years of religious freedom purchased with the blood of American soldiers, there were over 70,000 converted to Christ from Islamic background. Campus Crusade for Christ ministers extensively in Iraq. They report that when their trucks drive the streets of Baghdad, people chase after them to receive free bibles in their own language.

�The Egyptian Bible Society reports that 15 years ago, they used to sell about 3,000 copies a year of the �Jesus Film�. In 2005, they sold 600,000 copies of this God-glorifying movie! Over the past decade, over 1,000,000 Egyptians have put their faith in Jesus Christ!

�In 2001, there were only 17 known Evangelical Christians living in the country of Afghanistan. Because that nation was dominated by the al-Qaida controlled �Taliban�, President Bush acted to overthrow that Islamic terrorist government after 9/11 and now, due to the last 7 years of religious freedom, there are 10,000 Afghani people looking forward to an eternity in heaven!

These gains are unprecedented in the entire history of missions to the Muslim world!
What can we conclude from such amazing statistics? Two thoughts suggest themselves to me�

Firstly, that Christians can only begin to make correct decisions about political and military moves if they learn to look at history through a �spiritual lens�. Since 9/11, the USA has pursued aggressive steps of warfare and political pressure to confront the Islamic world. I believe that God has used our nation�s policies to open up a window for His gospel message into the Muslim world! As a result, over 1 million converts are no longer lost in their sins, and, even though a new president may reverse these policies, these new believers will still be in place preaching the message of salvation with fresh vigor in their own native lands!

Secondly, that the Lord is keeping His promise to the Jewish prophet Joel some 2,500 years ago� Many of these Muslim converts have seen dreams and visions of the Lord, especially in countries where the gospel cannot easily reach them. �In the last days, saith the Lord, I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh. Young men will dream dreams; old men will see visions.� Joel 2:27,28
